Wow has it really been that long ago.....

As a Young Adult/Late Teenage Girl I got the chance to go every summer and explore the MUSIC World.

But that I mean Our old stomping ground was "Pine Knob" that was the "IT" place to be when summer rolled around.

I was an early Teen when I started going making my concert rounds 14, 15 ya know.

But when I was 18 thats when the fun really began, Ill never forget the day somebody said to me "oh you mean your one of those Groupies" Keep in mind this was my Neighbors Friend saying this to me, not some concert goer, lol. I was like "uuuuhhhhh....NOPE!"  like how dare you to throw us all into the same batch, just because we be meeting Musicians (Just because we we're Women - and hanging around Musicians didn't mean we were loose. 

Anyways Me and some good Friends (I seem to rem I was the youngest in the group of friends matter of fact lol, Laurie was a few years older not by much, and then the rest of Our Friends older by prob 5, 8 years. Anyways we'd go to these different Concerts, and we'd leave just a little early and dive out of the Parking lot and put the "metal to the pedal" so ta speak. We'd always know ahead of time thru others "where the Rock Gods would be staying" usually nine times out of ten it was The Northville Hilton 5500 Crooks Rd, down in Troy, Michigan. I can't tell you the fun we all had every single time, It was like a natural High we'd have for days afterward. Shout out to a cool dude that worked the BAR/LOUNGE "Ross" He rem us everytime and get us in there lol.  

Many times we'd hang out in the same lounge with the Members of the Beach Boys (every now and then some tv star would join them like John Stamos). One time it was the weekend we had booked a hotel room (shared the cost) there was like 6 of Us Girls we spent the whole weekend at another much different high-end classy Hotel memory serves me right it was around somerset...  (The Beach Boys were down a ways in their room and we got to hear a never released song or two. Another time I was asked "would you like to share some Cocaine?" ah  No thank you lol. Awe the life of a Rock star I'm sure that was not out of the ordinary for them lol. We found out the day we were leaving that Van Halen (yes THE!!! VH) was partying the night before and crashing the place. DAMN IT I missed meeting VH!!!  WTH

I think the one story that I'll never live down though to this day...

TRUE STORY.....I was in the Bar (keep in mind I was 18 at the time) Mike Love Lead singer of Beach Boys kept eyeing me (He had this OLD GUY His masseuse  that traveled with him on the road kinda like a chiropractor I guess could say) Mike Love had sent this Guy over to me and The Man proceeds to say to  "Mike would like to invite you for the weekend to share the weekend with Him, all paid for by Him, and He would see to it that you got home safely (Limo and all). You are very much Mikes Type. ect.  well, I'm shocked I didn't look like a deer caught in headlights, I must say I kept my cool lol. I may have been only 18 but I knew we were talking "18 to Life for M.Love" I don't even know how I made it into the bar being underaged and all. (no I didn't drink that night for the record lol...I don't think lol))))

Needless to say as exciting as it would have been to go on record to say "I spent the Night/WEEKEND with a ROCK STAR" I turned Him down (yes lol) and said Thankyou but I had a Boyfriend (well whether I did or didn't I wasn't about to take Him up on his offer - I was a classy Girl))))

And yes This really is the honest-to-god true story.

I and My Friends hung out with lots dif Groups for many summers after that (that and or got to meet and talk and spend time with). Of course, as years went by and we were older we couldn't see ourselves meeting up anymore we had dif lives etc.

but so many stories/fun times were really great times.

One Year Carl Wilson was touring solo and He had Myrna Smith with Him.

This was THE Singer from SWEET INSPIRIATAIONS GROUP (Ya know The Group that sang and toured with THE Elvis Presley. side note/ Myrna at this time was Married to Jerry Schilling (Elvis's Best Friend for Years) which ironically I had go to be around Jerry many times as my Friends did too when he'd tour with the Beach Boys. never ever would thought be around people that had been so close to Elvis. Damnnnn.

NEVER SAY NEVER.

Meeting Mryna Smith was a wonderful experience (so sweet, kind, down-to-earth, soft-spoken, and inspirational. We had a great talk after their (Carl and Her Show) in Canton Michigan small little venue. 

She said Elvis was such a kind-hearted Person that give anyone the world, She said he was so misunderstood. Easy to see how He loved being around her as well - She had such a calming effect on those around her (that's how I felt) I wish I could have talked all evening with Her. Sad to hear of Her passing years back. That's kind what inspired me to write this post cause I was listening to some of her and sweet Inspirations Music. 

Well, That's just a small little sampling of My "youthful good times"

FOR THE RECORD Side note:  I didnt not go and proof read or auto correct so Im not sure what the hell i just said (But all that aside true story, Hard to believe as boring Life I lead I had such a fun youth)
